public relations
The primary purpose of the South Florida Region Public Relations Subcommittee is to effectively convey the message of recovery to the still-suffering addict by increasing recognition of NA and enhancing the credibility of our recovery program. Public Relations within the South Florida Region encompasses all public information, public relations, helpline, and any combined subcommittee of the member areas.
The Public Relations Subcommittee performs its function by:
- Provide a forum for the area public relations subcommittees within the South Florida Region to discuss problems, solutions, and ideas for carrying the message of Narcotics Anonymous.
- Provide information and materials necessary to convey the NA message more effectively and serve as a practical resource for the area public relations subcommittees within the South Florida Region.
- Maintain open communication among the area subcommittees, the region, and NA World Services Public Relations personnel.
- Maintain a statewide toll-free Helpline number.
- Create, maintain, and implement a Contingency Plan for the Region in the event an RSC weekend or Regional Convention is affected by a disaster, and support the member areas in the event of a disaster.
- Assume responsibility for any region-wide public relations functions or events, engage in cooperative public relations efforts with the Florida Region, and assist NA World Services with local public relations efforts.
- Assist member areas in establishing and maintaining their public relations subcommittees through awareness days, learning days, presentations, and workshops.
- Maintain two regional display booths (one on the East Coast and one on the West Coast) and a literature inventory.
- Ensure that established guidelines are maintained on the regional website (https://sfrna.net).
- Formulate and submit an annual budget at the October RSC.
- It will carry out all its efforts in accordance with the Twelve Traditions of NA, the Twelve Concepts for NA Service, and the South Florida Region Policy.
